Guest guest Posted February 28, 2004 Report Share Posted February 28, 2004 * Exported from MasterCook * Split Pea Soup Recipe By : Serving Size : 8 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Beans Crockpot Easy Grains Low Fat Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 3/4 cups split peas -- green and/or yellow 2 cups vegetable broth -- or " chicken " 5 1/2 cups water 1 large onion -- chopped 4 small red potatoes -- cut in 1/2 " cubes 2 large carrots -- cut in 1/2 " cubes 2 tablespoons Butter Buds® 1 tablespoon curry powder 1/3 cup brown rice -- raw 1 teaspoon salt Put all ingredients in a crockpot and cook on high for 6 hours, or low for 10 hours. Yield: " 1 large crock " - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Serving Ideas : Serve with a splash of milk and sprinkled with fresh dill. A hearty bread is good with this. NOTES : This soup can be pureed with an emersion blender, in a food processor, or simply left a bit chunky. This freezes well. Nutr.
