We had this the other evening. It was a nice change. The dressing is supposed

to be good for other fruit-based salads, too.

Karen's Spinach Salad with Garlic Dressing

1 pound fresh spinach

1 pint fresh strawberries

4 tablespoons chopped walnuts -- toasted

4 water chestnuts -- optional

1/2 onion -- optional

4 tablespoons Karen's Garlic Dressing

 

Clean and slice strawberries; wash spinach well and tear into bite-sized pieces.

Arrange walnuts and sliced water chestnut or onion on spinach and strawberries.

 

Drizzle dressing over the salad and serve.

1/4 cup cider vinegar

1/2 teaspoon sugar

1/4 teaspoon worcestershire sauce

1/4 teaspoon paprika

1 tablespoon poppy seeds

2 tablespoons sesame seeds

1 garlic clove -- (1 to 3 cloves), minced

1/2 cup olive oil

 

Combine all dressing ingredients, except oil, in blender. (Dressing ingredients

will emulsify best if mixed in a blender but also can be shaken.) Slowly add

oil.
