Alternative for those who don't have MasterCook

Hi! I'm fairly new to this recipe group myself, and

also haven't been a vegetarian for very long.

Noticing that some on this mailing list don't have

MasterCook but would like to share recipes anyway, I

thought I'd let everyone know about a freeware program

which will put your recipes in MasterCook format

without using the MasterCook program itself. It's

called " Recipe Buster " , and it will take your recipe

as a text input file and crank out a file in MXP

format acceptable for importing directly into

MasterCook or posting on this list. Created by Glen

Hosey, the program is available for download on his

Be sure to choose the MC Buster version " mcbust2j.exe "

since he also has a MealMaster version available on

the website. This is a self-extracting archive.

There is also a regular ZIP version called

" mcbust2j.zip " .

 

The MasterCook Recipe Buster program does have to be

run in a DOS window and you have to be comfortable

using a text editor like Notepad, but it's a quick way

to get your recipe in the right format once you get

I also noticed the MasterCook 6 program available for

sale for $5 at a web vendor called 5DollarSoftware.

I've never bought anything from them so I can't vouch

for their service, but version 6 might be just about

as good as the latest version (ver. 7). Here's the
