Guest guest
hi rosarita (if that is your name, not screen name!) check out first how many grams of protein you need a day. try a site like http://www.indiadiets.com/foods/food_nutrients/Proteins.htm generally, an adult who is a recreational excerciser (not sedentary) needs to multiply weight x 0.5 to 0.75 depending on how much you exercise (its 0.4 for a sedentary person) and this is the amount of grams of protein you need a day. for instance, i weigh 105, i am fairly active running after kids, taking a walk a day, so 105 x .5 = 52 so i need to eat 50grams of protein daily. now most foods list the serving size and grams of protein. a whole wheat bagle will usually have 9-11 grams on its own! add two Tbsp. of peanut butter, another 8 grams. 5 oz of tofu is 16 grams one potato is about 4 grams, add a cup of broccoli for another 5 grams. add a bowl or two of lentil or split pea soup and i'm set for the day ! its really easy! and i am excluding dairy/eggs, which are protein laden. see this site for a list, tho i think others might be more exhaustive. http://www.vrg.org/nutrition/protein.htm best luck! ~shahara lefay www.terrasoluna.org
