Guest guest
I see a lot of questions here about people who are concerned (justifiably) about protein/caloric/vitamin/etc. content of vegetables. I use a terrific site, www.aboutproduce.com when looking up this info. It's great! I can easily judge how much of what I'm eating. Fiber is a big concern for me, so this site comes in VERY useful. Also, because I don't eat eggs and I'm light on dairy, I add protein supplements to my daily diet. It's easy. I simply add a scoop of soy protein powder to a breakfast smoothie, and voila! 1/3rd of my daily requirement of protein is done. I've tried to make sure that by getting only about a third in the morning I'm not overloading myself on protein. You can adjust the powder to your requirements. Of course, a lot of people don't agree with this method, but if you are truly worried about your protein intake, it's an option to look into. According to my nutritionist sister-in-law, people are way too obsessed with protein intake, anyway. Too much protein leads to more health problems than too little protein, so if in doubt, go less! Take care!
