Guest guest
Hi I am a caregiver at home for a person with kidney failure who requires 5 ounces of protein daily. Beans, lentils, nuts and seeds are forbidden due to high potassium content. Is a vegetarian diet possible in this case? This person is also diabetic and can not eat large volumes of food. Rice, bread etc. also contain fair amounts of protein. It is hard to go short on protein if you are eating enough calories. Jo Hi: Vegetarianism is " in " now as never before. Can anyone advise me as to sources of high quality protein vegetablewise? Please go easy on beans!
