Guest guest
About 3 years ago next week, I turned lacto-ovo vegitarian, mostly due to allergies to meat protiens. I am now in the process of turning vegan for allergies to animal protiens as a whole. I was wondering how many others out there initally turned vegitarian for health complications and allergies like this. ~Adrianne~ " Corbett, Linda J. Guest guest
I have a cousin who turned vegetarian because of allergies, and she eventually had to go vegan, as well. I've discovered an unexpected benefit of becoming a vegetarian; lack of headaches. I've been plagued with headaches all my life. (Migraines, too, but I'm talking about the average, everyday headache.) I used to go through 2-6 Excedrin PER DAY. But within days of cutting out meat and cutting back on dairy products, my headaches disappeared. After some research into this, I found that the growth hormones given to meat and dairy animals can cause...headaches! I haven't needed to take aspirin in months. It's awesome! Guest guest
The choices I make today are purely for health reasons. Since taking refined sugar and processed flour out of my food plan, I feel 100% better. Now I am in the process of teasing out my other food allergies. One of the problems I have is that I seem to be allergic to some of the alternative protein sources, such as beans and nuts. It might be the enzyme inhibitors that are the problem. Anna
