Guest guest
Hi, I have had some of the quorn products... Both my daughter and I really like them. I have read that some people have a bad gastro intestinal reaction to quorn however we never have. Hope you enjoy them. Gayle
Guest guest
OMG don't use it!! Everything you hear is true! I was very impressed with the taste and unwittingly began using it. Within hours I began vomiting violently for 3 hours. I thought maybe I had the flu and did use the quorn again. Same thing - began vomiting within hours. Lasted for hours. That's when I thought it was the quorn - so I did a search - and I was SHOCKED. Hundreds of people have had the same reaction. Come to find out that it is a mold grown in huge vats - by a pharmaceutical company. It's a fungus that is very distant from the mushroom - which is what they claim it is. They stand behind their product 100% - but will not disclose the truth on their packaging. This is a very ggod site where you can file a complaint - http://www.cspinet.org/quorn/ Darcy Veg-Recipes , " e_smomma " <abduke@h...> wrote: > anyone with any info on this meat substitute? Guest guest
I happened to have three packages of quorn products in my freezer.. all 3 clearly state that it is a fungus, the full name of the fungus, and they explain that they make their product thru fermentation of the fungus. they even say they found it " literally in the back yard " !! Look on the back of the boxes, they put the story of the company right there. So far their product tastes really good to me, with no weird soy after taste... maybe you have a food allergy? - dvesely72000 Veg-Recipes Thursday, May 13, 2004 6:36 AM Re: quorn? OMG don't use it!! Guest guest
It was undoubtedly a food allergy. You'd be hard-pressed to find any food that some percentage of the population isn't allergic to--soy, dairy, corn, wheat, nuts, strawberry, shellfish...etc., etc.. I've had quorn and I liked it well enough but it won't be a regular part of my diet because I don't like to use too many processed-meat analog foods.
