Ted - I live in Riverside too.

There is a great Indian buffet (very whole in the wall) at Blaine and Watkins

behind UCR.

Little Emporer has vegetarian chicken and tofu dishes in Canyon Crest Towne

Center.

Papi's next door makes bean burritos w/o lard.

Dragon House in Moreno Valley or Tyler area has an entire vegetarian menu.

There is also a Clarks on Market in downtown Riverside. We always follow that up

with a trip to Trader Joe's at Central and Market.

If you want the best food in the whole world - there is Native Foods in Costa

Mesa, Palm Springs, Palm Desert or Westwood. Its worth the drive - I prefer Palm

Springs.

Let me know if I can be of more help. jsjol001

there are some good placed in Riverside area you can get good food! Try Sikh

owned/operated " indian " food places, many can put together vegan and vegetarian

meals if asked... you can shop at Clark's in either San Bernardino or Loma

Linda.. again,,, TONS of food items, many freezer ready! There is Sprouts in

Temecula, and another natural food place is in Riverside in the downtown area..

keep your eyes peeled, you will be amazed at how many places are out there which

offer stuff! of course straight vegetarian is easier than vegan.. but it isn't

impossible! Do a restaraunt search of the area... you will find stuff!

Congrats, Ted, on being vegetarian and thinking about veganism!

One thing I can suggest to you for when you go out, which works

really well here in the SE where restaurants don't serve much veg

stuff - if it's a sit-down place, and not the busiest timeof the

day, just ask the waiter to ask the chef if he could make something

up that's vegan! Most times, they're quite willing, and one even

told me it made his day because he was tired of making steaks all

day...
