Guest guest
I have a funny story about asking the Chef at a restaraunt to make a special meal. My husband, Steve used to go on extended business trips down in Norcross, GA it's a suburb of Atlanta, about 9yrs ago. There wasn't any veggie food on the menu and after about a week of salad and baked potatoes. He finally asked the waitress if the Chef could make a pasta dish with sun-dried tomatoes and artichoke hearts. The Waitress refused stating that it wasn't on the menu. At this point he insisted on talking to the Chef. The manager came over and finally the Chef showed up asking what's the problem. Steve told him that he must not be a very good cook because both the Waitress and the Manager said he couldn't make a simple pasta dish. The chef gave the Manager and Waitress a dirty look and asked what the dish was, when he found out he said no problem and went back in the kitchen. Steve got the best meal that night and the got a great tip. The best part was that he was at the same restaurant the next week and he saw the dish he had ordered, pasta with sun-dried tomatoes and artichoke hearts on the menu for lunch! So the moral of the story is that it never hurts to ask, even if you have to insist at times.
