Guest guest
hello, i am new to this group. my name is ashlee and i'm 23 years old, married and have one daughter, halle, 5 1/2 months. i'm not a vegetarian but i do enjoy veg recipes. i thought i would join this group to build my recipe collection. are any of you big smoothie eaters? we have those a lot - i'm looking for different things i can add to them to increase their nutritional value. sometimes i add flaxseed, sometimes wheat germ, soy milk, different kinds of nuts and seeds. please pass on some ideas if you do anything different with them, we eat smoothies every day and they are getting boring! it's the only way my husband will eat fruit though. also, do any of you use juicers? i am thinking of buying one - but there seems to be so many different kinds on the market. what do you buy for just making basic fruit/vegetable juices? they range in price from 20 dollars to a few hundred, and since i'm not familiar with making homemade juices i don't really know what the difference is... my husband also isn't big on veggies - he will eat raw carrots, cucumber and cooked broccoli - that's about it. do you have any good casserole recipes that contain different types of veggies? he'll eat them if they are chopped up enough that he doesn't really know they are there - i swear, feeding him is like getting a child to eat properly, lol. the past month i have made a choice to eat healthier and include more seeds, nuts, vegetables, fruit and soy products to my diet. i'm not up to par with this type of eating really - my diet has always consisted of alot of dairy products and meat. how much soy milk/tofu is recommended each day? i usually add soy milk or soy yogurt to smoothies...also, about nuts - how many make a serving? it's tempting to just eat the whole bag. look forward to sharing with you all. ashlee
