Guest guest
I bought a good quality garlic crusher, which crushes the garlic quite fine. Trouble is, I can't for the life of me get the gadget clean when I've finished with it. I've tried soaking followed by poking skewers through the individual holes (the skewers don't fit!) and I've tried waiting for the waste to dry out, then scrape it off. That didn't work either. Anyone have any ideas? I also like to use the crusher for ginger sometimes, though it's difficult to get the ginger through the fine holes. Guest guest
Hi Louise, To be honest, I'd recommend not using a crusher at all. I used to, then I discovered that the garlic tastes much nicer if you just chop it finely. The last time I used a crusher I made garlic bread and it was inedible because the garlic was so bitter from being crushed. If I'm feeling lazy, though, I grate the garlic on a Microplane grater. This works very well for ginger too. These graters are a bit expensive, but they work so much better than any other kind.
