Guest guest
I don't often post to this group, but love the recipes. I used to use Mastercook 4.0 but have recently purchased a new computer and Windows XP won't load the old software. I found that Sierra no longer supports the software, and that Value Soft is now selling it. Does anyone have experience with Value Soft and/or the Master Cook 8.0? I really miss having the software to sort my recipes. I have quite a few recipes that are only in the computer. Would like to know if Value Soft is a good company to deal with. thanks coolbana

In another Mastercook group I read that there was a work-around for How to Patch MC 5-7 for XP SP2 ... <http://community.vugames.com/WebX?14@@.1dd7fe12>http://community.vugames.com/We\ bX?14@@.1dd7fe12 but it doesn't seem to mention MC 4. >I found that Sierra no >longer supports the software, and that Value Soft is now selling >it. If not....i fall into the latter category. Apparently you can find older versions for less, but $20 isn't that much for a piece of software that you use regularly. I have heard a few reviews of MC 8. It's not that different from MC 6 (or 6.2, which was the first ValueSoft version) or 7.0, but it has a few new features and the PDA link software--which I'm interested in--is supposed to work better in 8.0 than 7.0. The core of the functionality is no different from 6.x. >thanks >coolbana
