Guest guest
I just found out about a web site to help our soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan called www.AnySoldier.com. They have 400 soldiers that volunteer to distribute donations from folks sent from the states with " anysoldier " in the address. They need things like toiletries(including those for feminine hygine), gloves, sock hats, thermal under shirts for the rainy season, and what I am sure most folks have some of; Blank Christmas Cards, that they can send home to loved ones. If you have any of these things, it would be wonderful to send them. Our soldiers could use them. Go to the AnySoldier.com web site and pick out a volunteer to send the items to so they could be distributed to our service men and women who need them. Thanks, Jean Spangenberg 10/10/2004 Here are some examples of post from Soldiers on the site. These are current addresses now, but since addresses change due to the volunteers circumstances, before you send your package please check at the site to make sure that an address is still current. Don't just print out these examples and not check each time you send a package. For all of you that I know will send something to help our troops, I thank you for them. I am not affiliated with " anysoldier " in any way. I am just a citizen who appreciate what they are having to do. Cocoa w/marshmellows. Male and female Brown/beige/tan/white Longjohn tops and bottoms (no patterns or designs). Black socks. Flannel sheets and pillow cases would be a nice touch. Any Holiday paraphernalia would warm our hearts. Blank Christmas cards to send out to family and friends would be nice. Dark Brown winter scarfs may work. That's all I can really think of. As well as being a soldier I am a mom to two girls, so as a parent I know how alone their going feel without their families during the up and coming Holidays. I want to at least bring a little holiday spirit to the soliders here in Iraq if you could send decorations i.e (Christams, Halloween), holiday candy, Christmas cards, magazines, books, CD's, playing cards and games. Any thing that would bring a little of home here to Iraq. It's nice to know that people do care. Thank for supporting the Troops.
