Guest guest
Is my friend! Why I don't keep logging on this I do not know! I have managed to get over a thousand kcals today by having a couple of extra full fat Laughing Cow cheese sandwiches (Dr Dragon is buying those now to make sure I get near my cals for the day which in order to lose weight healthily should be around 2,450 and not 450 as has been my usual intake!) Other news, I do NOT have diabetes OR multiple sclerosis (yay!!!), after a raft of tests it has been determined that it IS a/2 trapped nerve/s caught by the broken pelvis (and possibly caused by tensing up because of the stress we have been under), if it is no better in about a months time I will be undergoing physio but the docs hope that won't happen. Oh and I am losing weight LOL - I am still on target for my pound a week until Yule/Christmas, it started going back up (not eating enough see paragraph one LOL), but the Doctors/nurses are happyish as I have lost 6kg/13 pounds since joining the practice last year :-) The Dragon (aka High Priestess Enchanting Evenweave) Current stitching - Map of Durham http://dragonsteel.multiply.com/ http://tempewytch.diaryland.com/ http://dragonstitching.blogspot.com/

Guest guest
Yep, if we eat too little, our bodies go in to starvation mode and hold on to all our fat for survival. Guest guest
It is such a enigma to me how differently people deal with stress- And, how different types of stress affect people. I eat if I am lazy, bored, and moderately stressed. To me, money issues fall here, too, as I seem to spend all the money at the grocery store when our bank account dwindles. then, I proceed to eat it ALL! LOL I DON'T eat if my stress level is High. When my daughter was born, she was put back into the hospital at 6 days old for a double exchange transfusion with kept her there for 14 days. I think I ate 2 full meals that entire time. (But, the 55 pounds I put on during the pregnancy continued to " feed " me ) But, my husband is the complete opposite as he can go into starvation mode when funds are tight, but when the stress is HIGH he eats non-stop. When I say my nightly prayers, I always ask that things work out the way He has planned. Things will work out, and it can't be for your lack of trying! Best wishes, Cassie --- On Tue, 10/21/08, The Dragon <dragonsteeluk wrote: The Dragon <dragonsteeluk Re: Calorie Count dot com Tuesday, October 21, 2008, 8:20 AM Thanks Cassie - and it looks as though the money situation should be easing soon as well so hopefully *phew* all round LOL The Dragon (aka High Priestess Enchanting Evenweave) Current stitching - Map of Durham http://dragonsteel. multiply. com/ http://tempewytch. diaryland. com/ http://dragonstitch ing.blogspot. com/
Guest guest
Hi Dragon,  Congratulations are due all round - losing weight, your positive attitude and good medical reports. And I also saw that things may soon be looking up on the financial side too.  I am thrilled for you. That's a pretty impressive list of things which are going right for you and, on top of that, it's great to know that you have Dr. D's support in reaching your goal.  It isn't always easy to accept that we have to eat MORE than we feel we should in order to maintain a steady but healthy weight loss. Well done for changing your habits to a more realistic calorie intake.  Thanks for the tip about caloriecounter.com I have just had a quick look and it looks rather impressive.  Hugs from Marie  --- Other news, I do NOT have diabetes OR multiple sclerosis (yay!!!), Oh and I am losing weight LOL - I am still on target for my pound a week until Yule/Christmas, Recent Activity  2 New MembersVisit Your Group New web site? Guest guest
Hi Dragon - I'm so relieved that your numbness problem is 'only' a pinched nerve (well, considering the possible alternatives before the tests - ouch!). Thanks for letting us know. Good idea to keep an eye on those calories - but you say > . . . over a thousand kcals today by having a couple of extra full fat Laughing Cow cheese sandwiches . . . Well, okay, if that's the only way you can think to get extra calories into yourself *shrug* but hey, it's not a bit healthy, you know - and bears little relationship to good nutrition (it's nearly ALL fat). Need I mention that there are many here who are trying to _avoid_ extra fat (especially animal fat) on this low-fat slimming group . . . .. It'll make some of them a little envious! Keep on losing that weight, though. That's not healthy for you to be carrying around either! Nice to have you back in touch. Guest guest
Sorry Pat! I forgot about the low fat rule (sight of an embarrassed Dragon slinking away in shame!), part of the problem is I tend to stop eating when stressed (and Dr Dragon and I have been seriously stressed since July!), I think I was just so happy that I have found something that works for me I forgot about one of the rules. I promise not to do it again I promise not to do it again I promise not to do it again I promise ...... Guest guest
LOL Is there a rule? I forget. What I meant was that I could hardly endorse your eating extra full-fat cheese - cuz we don't do that here and, besides, it's downright unhealthy - but of course I too am happy that you have found something that works for you I'd probably have eaten a chunk of chocolate or carob (sorry, everyone!) to get those extra calories if I'd been you *shrug* or some spicy lentils (although those fill you up pretty fast and you do have a problem with lack of appetitie). But I'm no you. Different strokes. Hugs, Pat --- The world is a stage, but the play is badly cast.(Oscar Wilde) ________________________________ Sorry Pat!
