Update on my husband

Yesterday was kind of frustrating. When we scheduled the appt. with the

GI I asked to see one that specialised in Celiac Sprue. Well the dr. we

saw did not. He only knew the paragraph that was in the textbook. So I

knew a lot more then he did, and he felt very threatned by it. He

drew 3 vials of blood and said that there was another better blood test

for Celiac then the one my husbands dr did. Also he wanted to see how

is iron and zinc were, as these are usually low in untreated celiac

people. My husband is schduled for an endoscopy Dec. 2. That is the

last test. Then we will find out for sure and know where to go from

there. Although the GI said that if this next blood test came back

positive, that the endoscopy would not matter much. The two blood test

would prove that Mark has it. But for Insurance and research they need

to do the endoscopy.

The dr, after taking Marks full health history and examining him said

that he felt Mark had Celiac even though he was over wieght. But since

we took sugar out of Marks diet, he is loosing between .5 and 1 pound a

day, which is not healthy at all. So he might just get the skinny

Celiac look soon. I hope not, it is not a good look for anyone. Mark

did come home happy yesterday. I was amazed. It was very nice to have

him happy. I hope he can stay that way.

Thanks everyone!

Amy
