Guest guest Posted May 9, 2005 Report Share Posted May 9, 2005 Peach Julep Source: Taste of Health 8 cups coarsely crushed ice 3 cups fresh peach juice or peach nectar 1 cup pink grapefruit juice, freshly squeezed Crust ice in food processor; place in glasses. Mix juices and pour over ice. Garnish each glass with a spring of mint and serve immediately. *Beware of some store-bought pink grapefruit juices. They may contain carmine and/or cochineal extract. This is a red pigment extracted from a bright red South American female scale insect. Contact these companies and ask them to remove these offending ingredients. Read your labels!
