Guest guest
Welcome to the group, Michelle - and congratulations on losing all that weight in the last year. That's fantastic! No wonder you're 'hooked' on vegetarianism I have also read Skinny Bitch and would heartily recommend it to anyone who wants to lose weight or simply learn how to eat in a healthy vegetarian way. I admit I was doubtful when I first heard of the book - crazy title and all that - but it does an excellent job at motivating people to give up the stuff that harms them as well as harms the animals and environment. Splendid job. (Anyone who hasn't seen it should see if they can borrow it from their local library - it was certainly in ours.) And good for you for helping your girls towards a vegetarian lifestyle. I know some people think vegetarianism is something kids 'choose for themselves when they grow older' (a bit like political parties), but it seems to me that, if you know something (eg. animal flesh) is harmful and that avoiding it is healthy, then it makes good common sense gently to persuade those minors entrusted to your care towards the less harmful way as early as possible. (Think drugs, for eg., right?) And of course there's also the respect for life which I think we all try to teach our children :)As I say, good for you and good luck with that. Please write in often - would love to know how you are progressing. Do you have more weight to lose??? Guest guest
I know, I feel like a wuss when I complain about it being cold here in California and my online friends in Wisconsin & Minnesota just laugh and laugh at me. :-) Cindi --- On Thu, 1/8/09, pdw <pdworkman wrote: pdw <pdworkman Re: Re: Questionnaire for new members - Michelle Thursday, January 8, 2009, 12:54 PM We were in Arizona in November, and were laughing at my husband's cousin's family, who were cuddling up with blankets, putting little hats and mitts on the children, etc. We had to sleep with the window open . . .
