Guest guest
Hi Jing Yi. My situation was similar to yours. If you go off the gluten free diet, your symptoms might be a lot worse than they were before. I never did get a diagnosis, but the symptoms got so severe that I'll never take the chance of going off the diet again because I'm not sure that I would be able to recover. Best wishes, Suzanne Romey " Wu Jing Yi " <jingyiwu Sent by: cc: @yaho Question about Celiac disease ogroups.com 05/11/2005 09:07 AM Please respond to Dear all, I have a question. Since I was diagnozed with gluten sensitivity via blood analysis, I'm not sure if I have celiac sprue. I had a long history of chronic bowel inflammation and irritable bowel syndrome. When I started GF diet, all the bowel symptoms went away in 3 months. But I'm still not sure if those symptoms I had meant that the villi in my intestines were damaged. Maybe I just had bowel symptoms but not celiac sprue. And I've been on GF diet for over half an year now, so I wouldn't bother to do an endscopy to see how my villi are. Anyone has answers for my question? Thank you! Positive bloodwork + positive reaction to the diet = a pretty darn firm diagnosis. ygg
