Guest guest
Hi Cindi, I plan my main meals for the coming week (and make extra to take leftovers to work for lunch) but don¹t actually plan the entire week¹s menu ahead of time. I have gotten to where I can kind of wing it as I go and fall pretty much right in my calorie range. And once a week we tend to go out for Subway on Saturday afternoon where I get a veggie patty or a veggie delight. So here¹s a previous week just to give an example. Hope this comes across easy to read ‹ for some reason when my messages come through they often replace punctuation with symbols. Only on this list, no others. Hmm. Guest guest
Thank you for taking the time to write that out and share. Your list has made me miss when I planned out my meals more. I hope to get back in the swing of better planning and eating now that I'm working again and readjusted to only having so much time to myself. :-) Cindi --- On Mon, 5/18/09, Coop <rodstruelove wrote: Coop <rodstruelove Re: Weekly Menu? Guest guest
Weekly menu? What a novel concept! I'm lucky to figure out a menu for the next meal. LOL. Seriously though, I'm trying. I plan to cook once or twice a week and pick recipes the week before for grocery shopping. I don't plan which day, but it's a start. Judy On Behalf Of Cindi I see our chatter has died down some. Does anyone have their week's meals planned out and want to share? Cindi
Guest guest
Every Sunday I write out a list of meals for the coming week and make my grocery list. It saves me money because I don¹t make any Œimpulse buys¹ and stick to my list. Because I make meals that serve 3 or 4 (there¹s only hubby and me) there are leftovers to take to lunch. I chose a bunch of meals that we really enjoy that are low in calories and fat, so I can pretty much pick from any of them and know that I¹ll be within my calorie limit with little effort. I¹d be at a loss if I had to wing it every day! LOL I just consult the list and see what meals I have to choose from I mix them around, I don¹t plan it down to which day I¹ll have what ‹ but I know what meals I have available for the week, and decide as I go which to make. Guest guest
Hi Judy ~ I've been doing what you do lately. Just thinking of a few meals and making sure I have the ingredients on hand but planning out which day, etc. Cindi --- On Tue, 5/19/09, Judy Goldsmith <judyjtg wrote: Judy Goldsmith <judyjtg RE: Weekly Menu? Guest guest
I plan as well. If not, we would rely on lots of pre-packaged, as I don't really think about cooking until I'm hungry. Buying the fresh produce means I WILL eat it, as I have to prepare it before rotting occurs. Therefore, even if I am not wanting to cook at all, I will make the dinner, even if it's for the following evening. And, when school starts, I spend most of my Sunday shopping and cooking, as the days fly by trying to get into routines. So, I really have to plan, even to the day. I am a list maker, though, so I feel great crossing off the items on my list, or the meals for the day. My most difficult task is remembering why I purchased most of the items. I have a list of the meals I have planned on. If it weren't for that, I would be hopeless --- On Wed, 5/20/09, Cindi <cindi93069 wrote: Cindi <cindi93069 RE: Weekly Menu?
