ATTENTION: ADVENTIST HEALTH STUDY INFORMATION (REVISED)

WATCH ABC WORLD NEWS TONIGHT THIS SUNDAY (10/23/2005)

Watch for a special feature " Living Longer, Living Better " on ABC World News

Tonight this Sunday, October 23, 2005. This program runs from 6:30 pm -

7:00 pm in most news markets (please make sure to check your local listings,

though).

Adventists and Longevity Feature

See the National Geographic magazine (November 2005) for a special feature

on Adventists, the Adventist Health Study and Loma Linda in the cover story

" The Secrets of Living Longer " . On October 25, the journalist, Dan Buettner

will be a guest on the Good Morning America ABC TV Show and share excerpts

of the story.

More Information

The National Geographic article presents the photos, stories and health

secrets of three groups of people (Sardinians, Okinawans and Adventists) who

are reputedly some of the longest living, healthiest people in the world.

The section on Seventh-day Adventists briefly describes the background to

the Adventist lifestyle, the Sabbath and the results of the 1976 Adventist

Health Study. " In the end the study reached a stunning conclusion, says

Gary Fraser of Loma Linda University: The average Adventist lived four to

ten years longer than the average Californian. That makes the Adventists one

of the nation's most convincing cultures of longevity. "

The feature emphasizes, Have Faith, Take Time Off and Celebrate Life and

shares the interesting story of Marge Jetton, an active 101 year-old from

Loma Linda and photos of other active Seventh-day Adventists.
