Guest guest Posted October 23, 2005 Report Share Posted October 23, 2005 Apple Crumble (Single Serve) Ingredients 1 granny smith apple 4 tsp water 2 tsp sugar 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon Topping 1/4 cup GF self-raising flour (I use Orgran) -OR- 1/4 cup GF flour mix + 1/2 tsp GF baking powder 4 tsp flaked almonds 4 tsp brown sugar 4 tsp vegan margarine 1. Preheat oven to 190C (375F). 2. Peel, core and slice apples and place in a pie dish with sugar, cinnamon and water. 3. Place flour, almonds and brown sugar in a bowl. Rub the margarine into the mixture until the mixture is crumbly. 4. Sprinkle crumble over apples. 5. Bake for around 30 minutes until golden on top. 6. Serve with 'Custard Sauce' (see below) or vegan ice cream. Serves 1. ------------------ Custard Sauce 3/4 cup soy milk 4 tsp cornflour (cornstarch) 1 tsp sugar (or to taste) 1/2 teaspoon GF vanilla essence (extract) 1. Blend cornflour to a paste with a little soy milk in a small bowl. 2. Heat the rest of the soy milk in a saucepan until hot. 3. Pour the hot milk over the cornflour and stir with a wooden spoon. 4. Return the mixture to the saucepan. Stir over heat until boiling. Cook for 30 seconds. 5. Stir in sugar and vanilla essence. Serves 1.
