Guest guest
You can cook ground flax seeds but not flax seed oil. I grind mine in the liquidiser and have them in hot oats, you can also add them to cakes/biscuits and fruit smoothies. If you put two tablespoons of ground flax seed with a few tablespoons of hot water, leave for 10minutes and whisk. This is mixture a good substitute for eggs in baking. You should eat two tablespoons full of ground flax seeds everyday to get your omega 3. They are gluten free too! Flax seed oil goes rancid quickly, it must be kept in the fridge and consumed within 4-6weeks. Keep ground flax seeds in the fridge or the freezer and will keep for months. According to Dr Greger ground seeds are much better for you than the oil, see the brilliant on line lectures by vegan Doctors at: http://www.drgreger.org/talks/ http://www.vegsource.com/
