Guest guest
Hi Karo I'm laughing because I go to bed at 8 PM. It started with my husband going to bed early and there was nothing on TV. So, I take my book and go into MY room and read for a while and then drift off to sleep. My friends tell me I'm missing a lot but I'm up hours earlier than they are and morning is my favourite time of day. I think they are the ones who are missing out. My munchie attacks are late afternoon and I don't eat a lot in the evening. Audrey
Guest guest
I find I get " munchie " signals when my body is actually trying to tell me " sleepy " . So you might want to adjust your bedtime somewhat and see if that helps. I also know that once I *start* munching in the evening, I cannot *stop*, so I make myself a rule that I cannot eat until 20 min or so before bed. 20 min before bed, I can grab a small snack, eat it slowly while unwinding, and then *get to bed*. That way I have a set " stop " time, and the rest of the evening, I can tell myself " I can wait until _____ p.m., and then have a snack. " Exercise also helps reduce cravings, but then sometimes I feel like I deserve a bigger snack . . . Guest guest
Hi Karo, A good way to avoid night time, or other unwanted snacking is to keep yourself busy doing things that aren't hospitable to grazing. Taking a bath, going for a walk, doing a hobby/something creative, and so on. If I get the night time munchies, I'll grab my dog and go for a quick walk around the block just to get me out of that mindset and setting for a little while. And you're right, each day is a new beginning. It doesn't help to beat ourselves up for something we did yesterday. How am I ever going to lose all this weight when I can't stop cramming food in my face after dark! Today is a new day, I will start all over again and learn from last night I hope. Guest guest
Today I have been to busy spring cleaning, and am having a good dinner of spaghetti and squash. I am to tired to even think about staying up late and snacking, so dinner, TV, crocheting on my hexagon afghan, a glass of silk then night night. Guest guest
Karo, I too love to eat after dark. SO I plan my eating with that in mind. I have dinner very late like 7PM and then a planned snack for around 9PM. I make sure I have plenty of good flavored water to sip all evening. Works for me.
