Guest guest
Hi, I am currently an undiagnosed celiacs. My auto-immune symptoms went away when I went gluten free. My son and I both did the test from Enterolab in Dallas, Texas. We ordered the kits for only $229 each. This is where you dump your " stools " in a container they mail to you, and mail it back to them. My niece and twin nephews were all diagnosed as celiacs this way. Apparently, the antibodies show up in stools more thany they show up in blood. I will let you all know the results when I hear from them. By the way, I am 44 years old and 5' 10 " , so I am not your typical celiacs either. What's more is that I had weight loss surgery. I did not even know that I was ever celiacs or that anyone in my family was celiacs either. Who would have thought that the reason I was having such severe stomach pain at 290 lbs was from celiacs. I would have thought that I would be losing weight from it. I had severe gas and cramping as well as diarrhea. After surgery, I could not eat any bread or pasta because I suddenly hated it. I thought that my cramping and stomach symptoms were reduced from eating less--not from eating differently. If it were not for the fact that I developed bad joint pain, two migraines daily, severe exhaustion, and Sjogren's, I would have never gone gluten free. I never would have believed that I had that. About the challah.......yes, I would love a recipe for challah. Currently, I just skip the challah on Friday nights because I don't know what else to do. If you make your bread in a bread machine, do you recommend a specific one. I have another question, did any of you feel sorry for yourselves when you found out that you had to go gluten free. I went through a pity party. Maybe that was because I had to do relearn how to eat from weight loss surgery and now I am doing it all over again. I am wondering if it is just me...
