Guest guest
Jing Yee--I think you just notice it more after going GF. If you had IBS (like I do), you really couldn't eat EVERYTHING. You were just used to the various reactions your body had to certain foods, probably. Now with your system cleansing itself, your reactions to things your body wants to reject are just more noticeable, I think. Marilyn
Guest guest
Jing Yi, what you are experiencing sounds so familiar, as my husband has gone through the same things. He has good times and bad times, even though he eats gluten-free 100% of the time (if that's possible. . .I'm sure there is contamination sometimes where gluten products are hidden and not known to him). He's been on the gf program for over four years now. I know that Brenda Lee has some good suggestions that include things like quinine water and pro-biotics. My husband gets help from vegetarian enzyme capsules that help with digestion and pro-biotics. He also has to be careful not to overeat, nor to mix too many kinds of food together at one time. Juicing is sometimes beneficial for the symptoms you have described. We have received much help from a cookbook and information written by Barbara Kerr called " Taste of Health " . Barbara was very, very ill with crohnes disease and IBS and found relief in a vegan diet and with raw juices. She has a website at: http://tasteofhealth.net/cookbook.htm If you follow the links you'll find recipes, information about her illness, talk about juicing, and how to order her cookbook. I was able to attend one of her conferences once and enjoyed it a great deal. (Not all of her recipes are gluten free, but many are or are easily adapted). I hope you are feeling much better soon! LaDonna >>>>> I've been on gluten-free diet since last August, but my food allergies keep changing. I wonder if anybody has similar issues as I do. For a time I began to be allergic to all beans, all dried food, and then sour food like yogurt, and then anything sweet including fruit. Now I'm able to have sugar and fruit, but two weeks ago, I started to have trouble with brown rice, potatos, corns, berries, and citrus fruit. My stomach is still very sensitive and changes symptoms extremely. I hope to hear your experience. Before I had GF diet, I got irritable bowel syndromes a lot, but I could eat every thing I like. Now my stomach keeps reacting to foods. I'm struggling to get healthy and not to get stomachache and it's been a daily issue for me. Does anybody here develop more allergies after going GF? Guest guest
I know when I'm having a bad reaction to gluten nothing seems to agree with me. More to the point though, yes, I developed more food issues (intollerances, allergies) since going off gluten. The truth is that I am now healthy enough to notice when something bothers my gut. When I was constantly sick it was hard to pinpoint any one food giving me problems because I felt bad all the time. Now that most of those symptoms are gone I can't ignore the fact that potatoes and other nightshades give me pain or that corn upsets my gut. It took me a year on the GF diet to figure things out. The trial and error method I used, while effective, was quite trying. Hope things get better for you soon, Tom

He keeps having problems with more and more foods, to the point that he can't get the nutrition he needs. We have started using digestive enzymes to try to heal his digestive tract enough so that he can tolerate a fairly balanced diet. I learned A LOT about enzymes on www.enzymestuff.com. The author does not try to sell you any particular product, just gives lots of information about how enzymes work in your system. She also gives links to several different companies if you do want to try them. We just started the enzymes, so I can't give you a personal recomendation, but it might be worth a try. Good luck! Guest guest
Hi all, Thank you for all of your replies. I feel relieved to learn that I'm not alone. I'm also relieved to know that enzymes may be able to help me. Best wishes, Jing Yi
