fellow gardners, malcontents, and assorted folks who walk a different path...

oh, the heck with it

so, i came home the other nite, a might toooo dark to see wot damage had been

rought in the yard, after 2 weeks of abscense...lucky me

it turns out, the tomatoes had continued there assault over the yard...i

couldn't even get my motorcycle out of the backyard without running over a few

adventuresome branches and tendrils...maybe they wanted to go fer a ride?

the yard had a persuasive odor of..fermenting tomatoes...it seems scores of the

fruits had ripened while i was busy galavanting across the US...tho, i do

harvest in excess of 100 of good ones last nite

sad to say, all the sauce i had made and frozen, was tossed out because my

roomies are silly and need correction

*cracks whip*

anywho...the weeds had cropped up everywhere, but that was to be expected

the bad news

so, i'm standing the back yard, looking at the fallen hollyhocks and sunflowers,

and something seems wrong...then it hits me...

the plum trees which bordered our yard and our neighbor's, are basically

gone...they had been trimmed down to mear trucks with 2 or 3 hacked off branches

each..the back part of the yard was fun of dead branches which the neighbor's

had let fall there, my hummingbird feeder is just missing, as are 2 wind

chimes....

%$#%$#^% & %***(*(*(^*(^*((^*!!!!!!!!!

so, needless to say, i was a bit miffed...but, there is no talikng to them, as

some old woman lives there with 2 crack addicts(who are almost as old as

her,maybe in their late 50's)

grrrr

ah well...

oh, and the assassin moon and stars melon plant, the one that seemed to enjoy

strangling out the rest of that part of the garden, seems to have not survived

the heat wave we had while i was gone...

and not one zucchinni squash produced either..fer the best i gather, er i would

have come home to loafs the size of small countries

well..gonna plant all the loverly seeds that were sent to me (thank

yooooouuu!!!) this weekend, and see if i can get a fall harvest in..

and thats the fraggle garden report...good nite, and good harvest

:)

cheers

he cut down the cherry tree?? could he tell a lie??? my gawd, its

washington!!!

plant new ones?? well...i've thought about getting more trees

but

a. its a tiny yard..i can spit farther...

b. the trees were on the border...if i get new ones, the dingus

neighbors would just do something stoopid

c. i'm sorta saddened to plant new trees in a house i only rent,

since eventually i'll be gone, and the next tenants invariably suck...

case in point...pillhill zoo haus, where i lived fer a long number of

yrs...had tons of fruit trees, huge garden, etc...i moved and left it

to some friends..they turned the backyard into a bmx bike

course...and now its being knocked down and everything will be

bulldozed

and, the 8 months i lived in san diego(spit spit), i turned our yard

into a bird haven, with huge gardens, lots of trees, vines, and

plants, terraced gardens, clover, accacia trees, fava and austrain

pea patches, nice herb gardens...and my ex kept the house and

destoyed it all.....

kinda makes ya sad..

ah well....trial is good fer the soul....

off to plant lots of nummy seeds today

wheeeeeee

landlord had one particularly obnoxious son who enjoyed shooting his

gun and cutting down trees and things like that...well, he cut down

our cherry tree (I'm pretty sure it was a cherry, but maybe it was

crabapple?) and I nearly broke down and cried. It was my first

spring/summer in that house and the tree had just finished it's first

bloom and had filled the view outside of our window with the most

beautiful pink blossoms....
