Guest guest
Hi, I have been reading posts for a while and getting to know everybody through their posts, but have never posted myself. I had an interesting experience this week that you all might find interesting. I have been feeding my family vegan-gluten free for several years because of allergies and looking for optimimum health. We were visiting family this week and a well meaning soul made bean buritos that had cheese in them for us. I didn't give them to my boys, because it is a huge problem if they get dairy, but I ate one myself. When they say that there are no hormones that have an effect on humans in dairy products, boy are they wrong. My body is responding big time to less than 1/8 c. of cheese. I am nursing an 11 mo. old and usually have a milk supply to meet his needs with no extra. I ate the bean and cheese burrito two days ago and have been engorged since. It is like I just had a baby and the body is just learing to respond to the baby's needs. Last night I was crying and feverish because of the excess milk that my body is making. I hope the response wears off soon. I have never experienced anything like it. The last time I had dairy, I wasn't lactating. I am not going to eat cheese again while I am nursing, even to spare someones feelings. I don't think this is all in my head. It is truely a response to rBST or just the ambient hormones present in regular store bought cheese. Interesting, don't you think. Guest guest
Yes, this is true - I've experienced similar things myself on lapses. Another thing that might interest you, Melanie is my experience with juicing.I found that I was getting bad migraine headaches after making and drinking fresh juice.I was only using organic produce. A nutritionist friend told me that I was experiencing the effects of the chemicals sprayed onto the fruit and vegetables. She said that a lot of produce labelled as Organic is actually a con and I can unfortunately belive that from when I worked in a health food shop in the 70's.
