Guest guest Posted June 6, 2005 Report Share Posted June 6, 2005 Spiced Baked Apples Warm baked apples, coated in a spicy sugar mixture and filled with chopped nuts, make a delightful dessert or extra-special breakfast. Ingredients 1/2 cup of sugar 2 tblp potato flour (or other GF flour) 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon 6 apples 2 tablespoons melted vegetable ghee 1/3 cup chopped walnuts NutriWhip or Rich's Whipped Topping(optional) Directions Heat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Combine sugar, flour, and cinnamon in a shallow dish, mixing well Peel and partially core apples, leaving bottom end of apple cores in place. Dip apples in melted ghee, then roll in sugar mixture. Place coated apples in shallow baking dish. Combine walnuts, remaining margarine, and remaining sugar mixture; spoon into center of apples. Add water to cover the bottom of baking dish. Bake 45 minutes or until apple are tender. Makes 6 servings. Serve warm with soy light cream or non-dairy whipped topping, if desired.
