Most of the conversions I see convert dry weight to volume (cups). Is

that helpful?

The way I'd approach this is based on calories versus weight.

So, assuming you know how many calories are in the 90 grams

of cooked food (your goal calorie level) and the calories in

a serving size of dry weight (from the package), you can use

this to approximate the amount of dried pasta you'd need to

get the same number of calories. Something like:

goal cals / dry grams * dry cals

or written out:

calories in cooked portion divided by grams in a dry serving

times calories in a dry serving

I do this kind of math when cooking beans. :)

Hope this helps,

Dry weight to give 90g of spaghetti

I have just realised that the weight given for the amount of spaghetti in my

diet (90g) is supposed to be cooked weight not dry.

Does anyone know how I should calculate the dried weight of any pasta that

will give me 90g cooked weight, please?

From this it appears that to get COOKED weight halve the amount of pasta - ie

45g dry pasta would give you your 90g cooked weight
