Guest guest
Hi, everyone. I'm LauraB, 43, single and residing in the Toronto area in Canada. I am not vegetarian, but am interested on it. I have a new friend, and he's a vegetarian (eats milk and cheese). I'm not sure which vegetarian he is. I am concerned with my health. I need to lose 15 lbs and part of Weight Watchers for a couple of years. I'm lifetime, so I weigh in monthly. I always found it a challenge on making entrees with meat. I have purchased a vegetarian cookbook and will be looking in some thrift stores to see what else is available. I have a multitude of cookbooks. I have 2 dealing with meatless and wholesome foods, but no nutritional info. I'm waiting for 2 books from the library. Can anyone recommend any magazines out there? If you're in Canada, that would be preferable. Not everything is available here. I have seen " Vegetarian Times, " but waiting for next month's issue coming soon. I browsed last month. It's pricey for one issue. I use to to " Cooking Light " which was the same price per issue. I to " Shape, " and " Healthy Cooking. " Shape doesn't have much with recipes, but fitness, a good way to lose weight, right? Healthy Cooking I love. It's from the Reiman publishers, " Taste of Home " magazines and cookbooks. " Weight Watchers. " I have old ones I don't throw out and may purchase every couple of months. There may be some meatless ones, and good overall advise on leading a healthy lifestyle. I did go with my new friend to a Middle Eastern takout place and had the Middle Eastern " baklava. " I could never eat the Greek one, it's too sweet. I do have a sweet tooth. I'm looking forward to the group, gathering the knowledge on this lifestyle. I downloaded something from the " Vegetarian Times, " basic info on vegetarian. LauraB.
