Substitution ??

What would any of you substitute for bread crumbs

in a recipe like the one below? Are bread crumbs

a binder? I ask because I cook for someone with

allergies to wheat, corn, etc.

Carrot Patties - 5 pts

> Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

>-------- ------------ --------------------------------

> 1 pound carrots -- grated

> 1 clove garlic -- minced

> 4 eggs

> 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

> 1/4 cup bread crumbs or matzo meal

> 1/2 teaspoon salt

> 1 pinch ground black pepper

> 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

I use cracker crumbs....
