Guest guest
I know what you mean Peggy - I shared digs with two other girls once and one of them if it didn't come out of a can/packet and could be heated on the stove top/microwave then she didn't want to know (and she was only 18 and wondered why she was a UK size 30!!!) The other girl used some convenience food and some cook from scratch and I cooked from scratch, myself and the other girl took over the cooking and within a month she had lost a dress size (oh and turned Veggie! but that was a side benefit!) Guest guest
Indeed Pat! She got to be a dab hand at making veggie chili and veggie spag bol! and once she managed (with a smidge of help) to make a full Sunday lunch for 6 of us - all Veggie! Guest guest
Chili and spag bol - good for her (and for you for encouraging her)! Actually, as people here are, I hope, finding out, cooking vegetarian and/or vegan isn't all that tricky once you learn a few basics. It's easier than cooking me*t imho, since you don't have to worry about tenderizing anything or about under-cooking things except for beans And cooking 'from scratch' (where did that expression come from, I wonder - I've never known) of course allows for so much creativity - and a less worrisome grocery bill - as well as a healthier diet.
