Hi, i new to the board. I have IBS, and gastroparesis and must eat

low-fat foods (no more than 10% from fat each meal), cannot eat meat

or raw veggies, and cannot fiberous foods (certain fruits, most

veggies, and legumes) without blending or pureeing them first. I am

also lactose intolerant and semi-wheat intolerant (i tested positive

for gluten intolerance in my blood work, but not in my endoscopy, and

i feel ok eating wheat, but much better not doing so).

Whew! That's a lot!! I guess you could say i'm a bit of a forced

vegan (sorry!) due to food intolerances. But i love to eat and cook

and am always looking for new recipies.

My question is for those of you who work/or are constantly on the

run. What type of foods do you carry with you to snack on through the

day? I'm the small meal/frequent eater type, and can't eat most

snacks i used to munch on through the day!! What you guys suggest?

Thanks for hearing me out!!!

maikko :)

Hi Maikko

Do you chew your food thoroughly before swallowing? A lot of digestion

goes on in the mouth before it gets to the stomach. I am always

reminding my daughter to chew because she tends to chew a few times

only so that's really bad for her when she gobbles her food.

Snacks - can you eat nuts at all? I don't recommend too much processed

foods unfortunately. How bout some GF bread with some spread? Oh yah,

eating on the run is also not a good idea unfortunately.

Kind rgds

Tracey
