Guest guest
Alicia, My daughter (will be 5 in a week) asks for a strawberry cake every year. I usually make a GF mix (yellow or white cake) and then make the frosting w/ strawberry puree (just a regular buttercream frosting w/ earth balance, powdered sugar and the puree instead of the liquid). Then we have vanilla soy dream with it w/ mashed strawberries over it. I don’t know how to make the strawberries into the cake, but this gives her the strawberry she’s looking for. Last year, I turned the cake into a “ladybug” w/ the pink-sh frosting and then made the spots out of chocolate icing. I thought it looked like an alien, but she loved it. Guest guest
It seems like beet juice would give a pretty pink color to a cake mix if used instead of the other liquids called for. LaDonna
