Guest guest
Hi there I recently purchased the FG Roberts Soy Compound. However, the manufacturers have let me know that the maltodextrin (which is 34% of the product) is processed with sulphites. Not to mention that it also is made on the same equipment as skim milk powder which is totally out of the question for us (my son has anaphylaxis to dairy). Does anyone know of a sulphite, dairy, egg, preservative free soy compound. I would like to use it for making sweets (like White Christmas) and for home made bread. Many thanks Emma Mum to Lachlan (2) who has anaphylaxis to dairy, egg, sulphites and intolerances to preservatives and pesticides, multiple allergies to nuts, white fish, dog, grass, dust mite
Guest guest
Shalom Emma, I may be wrong, but I am not aware of any soy compound (mix) that does not contain questionable ingredients for someone with multiple allergies, especially as severe as your family. Also, unless specified, even if the compound itself does not contain allergens, you cannot be guaranteed it was not prepared on machinery that came in contact with those allergens (as you found out with the dairy issue.) In my opinion, to be totally safe using soy flour mix is to mill the soy beans at home in a grain mill (such as Whisper Mill or Nutrimill) and then add your other ingredients (such as leavening agents, sweeteners, salt etc) yourself. ~~In Messiah, Vickilynn Micah 6:8 http://www.realfoodliving.com
