Guest guest
Thanks for the suggestion...I will give it a try. It would be great to be able to find recipies for stuff I have on hand...and to keep out the things I don't want too. My allergy doc is in the Kansas City area. His name is Dr. Baptist. He's an MD but he is somewhat open to some " alternative " stuff. From what I've heard, some allergists are very conventional...and not all that helpful. Dr. Baptist treats things like autism, ADHD, and a bunch of other illnesses that normally are not thought to be related to allergies. The Fibromyalgia Coalition (also in the KC area) strongly recommended him. Apparently he gets very good results in Fibro. Hope that helps. But I do understand what you are asking...more of a database where you can request recipes without certain ingredients. The only one that I can think of is www.allrecipes.com You can do a search by ingredients...ones that you want, ones that you don't, and an additional keyword. For example, you can type corn and rice in the " want " category because you know you have those things on hand, then put " wheat, tomatoes, mushrooms, yeast, oranges " in the " don't category " , and then put " soup " in the keyword box because you want soup for dinner. (or whatever) Keep in mind that I don't think the database would recognize the word gluten. You will still get recipes with oat or barley in them but you would be searching through way less recipes doing it this way than just browsing. Hope that helps! ~Nina Momma to 2 gluten-free kiddos PS Where did you get your allergy/intolerance testing done? One of my daughters are having food allergy/intolerance sysmptoms and I can't figure out what the problem food/s is/are. Guest guest
Kraft used to have a section where you could plug in two or three ingredients and it would pull up a recipe. The only problem with it was everything featured dairy products. If you don't mind having to adapt the ideas you get, you could try that one. Guest guest
Sounds like he might be trained in the DAN (Defeat Autism Now) protocol and in clinical ecology. Count your blessings. Such mds are few and far between. BL My allergy doc is in the Kansas City area. His name is Dr. Baptist. He's an MD but he is somewhat open to some " alternative " stuff.
