Guest guest
There is a recipe online for copycat hamburger helper mix that uses chicken boullion powder. Has anyone substituted vegetable boullion powder to make this mix and does it taste pretty much the same?

One of the coolest things I discovered after going veggie was that if you get the cheapest brand of boullion you can find (here in New England I get Stop and Shop brand), it's usually vegan! I make " chicken " and " beef " soup and noodles with the stuff all the time. It's not exactly healthy, but it tastes pretty authentic. I have tried to substitute vegetable boullion in place of chicken or beef in a recipe before, but I was never really happy with the outcome. Go to the biggest supermarket in your area and pick up some cheap-o name brand boullion and you'll be set. Would you mind posting the link for the faux hamburger helper? I've been missing that stuff!
