Hi Friends,

Coincidentally, I had sweet potatoes yesterday, the lighter type which are

different from the more orange yams. I think just having them available to use

as a basic, of either variety of tuber, is good for us.

They were sliced with skins on, cooked in a small amount of water in a fairly

flat pan, so I didn't boil them to death and pour off all the vitamins in the

water. I added S & P with a bit of butter spray.

I think they would be fine for any use, with chili, or used as one would any

potato. Yams seem sweeter to me.

Has anyone used Butter Buds, the dry sprinkle on powder?

I like it, and a found it OK to use to get some " butter, " flavor...but it is

salty.

I try to cut the fat and sugars, for weight loss and for health.

To me, leaving out the sweet taste...in many ways, is the hardest for me in

slimming.

Some say the substitutes might be just as bad as a few extra pounds. What do you

think?

I added a recipe to my Healthy Eating ideas on my blog. I am trying to get it

going, but I always have too much on my plate...pun intended. GRIN!

Good luck with your day!
