Elaine, I'm 100% and I don't eat any of the concentrated foods. I

found that they increase the cravings and are hard to digest. If you

eat lots of calorie dense fruit, it will keep the cravings at bay.

There are lots of people who seldom, if ever, eat nuts, seeds, or

dehydrated foods that do perfectly well, longterm. I, personally,

feel a lot better if I stay away from fatty or dehydrated foods.

Thanks Tommie,

I've tried eating mostly fruits and I generally feel the effects of

too much sugar. My skin doesn't seem to like it and i feel a bit

dehydrated. Is this just a part of the transitioning phase or are

some people just more susceptible to sugar? I know there are many

fruitarians amoung raw foodists who believe that it's the ideal diet

for everyone. Is it possible that so much natural sugar might not be

appropriate for some people or is it just the transition that I'v been

experiencing?

Perhpas ever so slightly off topic, but I'd like to second something

Tommie said, if it helps, Elaine: The more you eat concentrated foods

the more you crave them. It's so weird how food is addictive like that

(or not, if you consider all those chemicals they put into foods

specifically to *get* you addicted to them :P). I still slip up here

and there, have some chips or a cookie or something. Then it's like

all I want is more processed food. I find if you steer clear of it,

the cravings just go away. I've been very nearly 100% raw for a while

now, and the longer it goes on, the less I crave things like that. I

can look at all the chips and cereals on my counter that my mom buys

and for once not even want them, go into the fridge and grab an apple

or carrot instead : ) It gets easier the more you do it--like

anything, mm? Practice make perfect, or something ; P

If you are feeling dehydrated, you are _probably_ not eating enough

juicy food. The fat in cheese could make your blood sugar go up, too.

From what you have said (eating occassional wheat products, chocolate

and cheese) you aren't eating optimally. Those three things can cause

problems. Try cutting them out for a week, up your intake of water

occurring naturally in food, and see how it goes.
