Guest guest
Posted with permission. We remain very grateful to Ms Maria Daines for her constant support and encouragement. Her role in this campaign has been inspirational. Re: http://thescotsman.scotsman.com/scotland.cfm?id=1814172006 Dear editor, regarding the topic of elephant polo, please could your readers consider the fact that animals were not made to play sports, and certainly elephants were not put on this earth to play games with people riding on their backs, running after a tiny ball. Elephant polo is not fun for elephants! It may be fun for the people participating in the game but this selfishness to 'have a good time' at all costs is very unfair on the creatures involved and I believe it should be discontinued. If the organisers wish to raise funds for elephant welfare there are many excellent organisations that would be willing to enlighten them as to how this could be done immediately, and without further cruelty to elephants taking place. Kind regards, Maria Daines http://www.maria-daines.com http://www.myspace.com/mariadaines http://www.myspace.com/musicunitedforanimals http://www.cornwallsvoiceforanimals.org/Welcome.html
