Guest guest Posted July 18, 2006 Report Share Posted July 18, 2006 Walnut Burgers 1 cup walnuts 1/2 cup sunflower seeds 2 tablespoons (8 tsp) nutritional (savoury) yeast flakes 1 tablespoon (3 tsp) egg replacer powder 1 tablespoon (3 tsp) chicken-style bouillon powder 1 teaspoon mixed herbs (-OR- italian herbs) 1 teaspoon onion powder 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder few twists black pepper one 300 g (10 1/2 oz) packet silken tofu 1 cup chopped green onions 1 cup rice crumbs (-OR- GF dry bread crumbs) extra rice crumbs (-OR- GF bread crumbs) for coating Grind walnuts and sunflower seeds in a food processor. Add seasonings, egg replacer and tofu and process for a few minutes. Add spring onions and process at medium spedd until mixed through evenly. Finally turn the processor to low speed and mix through the rice crumbs. Form into small burgers and coat in rice crumbs. Fry in a little oil until nicely browned on both sides.
