Guest guest
Spice up some greens and serve the beans in the centre or on top of a bed of them? (I have a wild recipe for all this in my new e-cookbook coming out next month!) I am going to make some slow cooked maple baked beans tomorrow and I am at a loss as to what else to make to have with them! I thought of salad but that doesn't sound good since it's been so cold. Any ideas, oh wise ones? :-) Cindi

Guest guest
Keeping with the slimming theme what about Carrot Dogs and top them with the beans. We did this with veggie chili and it was Delish! Or, veggie beany weeny. I never really had it as a kid, so I enjoy it sometimes now. Guest guest
Mmmm, that's a good idea and I do have some beans leftover! I ended up making some chard and my guest made cornbread to go along with the beans. Probably not the slimmingest choice, but mighty tasty! :-) Cindi --- On Mon, 12/8/08, Cassie Dixon <roxy87cabriolet wrote: Cassie Dixon <roxy87cabriolet Re: What to make with baked beans Monday, December 8, 2008, 10:47 AM Keeping with the slimming theme what about Carrot Dogs and top them with the beans. Guest guest
Had to google to find out what carrot dogs are - but hey what a great idea, especially if you love carrots as so many of us do. I am one of those who is no longer fond of vegan hotdogs (used to loooove them in early days, and always thought the taste was a great improvement on the 'real' thing) so this would be a neat way to swan around eating all the fun condiments without having to ditch the v hotdog in a flower pot. Now if they would only make wholewheat buns that were thinner than the usual white flour tasteless things - or am I spoiling the whole point of this exercise? Sorry!!!!! Anyway thanks, yes, let's keep with slimming themes here when we can we get enough temptation thrown at us elsewhere!
