Being vegan in Cyprus

Luckily I am still on my 95% raw food life/eating style or I might have suffered

while on a writers' workshop week in Cyprus last week. The only vegan food on

the menu was Village Salad. This was

lettuce

tomatoes

onion

olive oil

are you waiting for more? Okay, some tavernas threw in celery, but that's it.

You'd think after 5,000 years of eating out, they'd know to add peppers,

broccoli, a dozen other salad veg, along with houmous, nuts, seeds, etc like I

(and I'm sure you all) do at home. Nevertheless, Cyprus olive oil is to die for

and along with their fresh bread, each Village Salad slipped down nicely.

A few photos from my Cyprus trip are on my blog here

One query for the medics here. My wife has been prescribed an iron supplement

but was told not to take it with grape juice. She didn't ask why not. Any

suggestions?
