Guest guest
Fidyl: i have a question. I saw your group on signing. I have been wanting to learn to do that bar far better than the maybe half dizen signs I remember of maybe 2 dozen I once knew. In that I do not know anyone who signs, I do not have a source to learn from. I obviously have put many things in front of this or I would have found a resource . I did order a vidio tape a couple of years ago, but again, other things took precidence. My transition for one. I first got interested in signing when I dated a girl who was deaf at about the age of 18 ... a long time ago. We both were earning about signing as her parents made her learn lipreading and did not allow what they felt to be a 'crutch'. In her case it must have worked. I went with her for about two weeks before I knew she was deaf even though she was a counslor at a camp for the deaf in Hunter NY. i surprised I recall the name of the town it's that long ago .. 40 years +/-. We were dancing and she changed partners with her girlfirnd. Though we were next to each other on the dance floor, her back was to me when I asked her a question. The girl I was dancing with said that I had to wait till she could see me before asking. we both worked on learning some of the signs the remainder of the summer. Back to the question. I saw the 'South Florida' in the groups name. East Coast?, Gulf Coast? Both?. Would you know if there is someone, or someplace in the Boca or WPB area where I could try to learn at least enough to be helpful when someone seems lost or in need of something? Thanks very much for taking the time to read this. If you have any questions that you need to know to feel more comfortable about giving me any information, please feel free to ask. I also run a few groups on both MSN and , two on cooking, on on clip art and the other 2 are on-line arms for two Rainbow groups that meet locally. One, a GLBTP tat meets at the UU Fellowshop Hall in Boca the other a women over 40 group that meets at the GLCC (Compass) in West Palm. I am therefor very cautious as to how 'real' cyber people are. - " fidyl " <fidyl <Veg-Recipes > Saturday, December 04, 2004 7:19 AM 2 Sides Of The Holidays > > > 2 Sides Of The Holidays > > Well, it appears that we all got through our ThanXgivings, but even > before that " holiday " came around, the media was gearing us up for > the next event. > > Xmas outshines them all, but there is Chanukkah, Kwanzaa and the > Winter Solstice. > > No matter what side of the fence you are on about these upcoming > December " traditions, " you can find what you are looking for at the > discussion lists below. > > Already I have posted about shopping, recipes, history and politics > surrounding this time of the year. > > If you would like all this information - and, more - come join us! > > Either way, enjoy whatever it is you 'celebrate' or identify with. > > ===== > Fidyl > Live Simply So That > Others May Simply Live > Yoga-With-Nancy-SoFla/ > SignSoFla/ > SoFlaVegans/ > SoFlaSchools/ > > > > > > > ******************************************************************************* > To post to list via e-mail: send e-mail to " Veg-Recipes " > To post to list via website: Veg-Recipes/post > To contact List Owner: " Veg-Recipes-owner " > Subscribe or Un through site: / > OR Un via e-mail: Veg-Recipes- > Calendar: Veg-Recipes/calendar > Bookmarks: Veg-Recipes/links > Photos: http://photos.Veg-Recipes/lst > Read or search old messages: Veg-Recipes/messages > **************************************************************************** > To purchase cookbooks via Amazon.com, > > >
