Guest guest Posted April 19, 2005 Report Share Posted April 19, 2005 Pakoras 2/3 cup chickpea/garbanzo flour 5 Tbsp. cold water 1/4 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper 1/4 tsp. cumin powder 1/4 tsp. tumeric 1/4 tsp. ground cardamom 1/2 cup chopped onions 1/2 cup potato, peeled and finely chopped 2 Tbsp. chopped cilantro 1 tsp. salt pinch of saffron Mix chickpean flour and baking soda together. Add cold water slowly and stir until just moistened. Add the remaining ingredietns and mix until blended. Do not overmix. Drop by tablespoonsful into hot oill. Fry on both sides until golden brown.
