Guest guest Posted April 19, 2005 Report Share Posted April 19, 2005 Indian Rice Source: McDougall Cookbook 1 medium onion 1/4 cup water 1/2 cup raisins 1/2 cup long-grain brown rice 1/2 tsp. curry powder 2 cups boiling water 1/4 cup slivered almonds (optional) Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Sauté the onion in the water for about 5 minutes. Add the raisins, rice, and curry. Stir to mix. Add the boiling water. Pour into a 1 1/2 quart casserole dish. Bake, covered, for 50 - 55 minutes.
