Guest guest Posted November 11, 2005 Report Share Posted November 11, 2005 Lentil Cold Cuts Source: Country Life Cookbook 1 1/2 finely diced onions 1 1/2 cups dry lentils 3 1/3 cups water salt 2 tsp Braggs or gf soy sauce 3 Tabs yeast flakes 3/4 tsp celery seed 1/4 tsp sage 1 1/2 tsp basil 1/4 tsp cumin 2 tsp garlic powder In saucepan cook onions in a little oil or water. Grind lentils fine in a blender, stopping 2 or 3 times to stir contents. Add to saucepan along with remaining ingredients. Boil 5 minutes stirring constantly. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 1 hour. Pour into medium loaf pan and chill for several hours or until firm. To serve: invert on plate and slice.
