Guest guest
Hey everyone, just reporting I had a FABULOUS January, losing 11.1 pounds for the month. I'm very pleased to say the least! You can follow my progress in my blog, but basically I'm just eating right AND exercising -- who knew!? LOL I've always been able to eat right OR exercise, but it's been difficult doing both consistently for any length of time. I generally do eat healthy, but over the holidays I had slipped a little. But I'm back on track with that since 2nd January! Then on 11th January I had a very frustrating day -- I had already walked for an hour in two different sessions earlier in the day, but hubby and I had a bit of a tiff that got me upset, and I went in the bedroom and shut the door. I could feel myself starting to get upset and hating how bad he had made me feel. Then I decided enough was enough -- no one can MAKE YOU FEEL anything without your permission. I decide whether or not I'm upset. I can decide to sit here and feel bad, or I can decide to go do something that makes me feel GOOD. So I grabbed my small backpack and out the door I went. I wondered how long it would take to walk to a particular fruit & veg shop. And though I'd already walked twice that day and my legs were complaining just a bit, I set my mind to the task and marched onward. The route was a bit winding with steep terrain at times, so it was a challenge. About 35 minutes later I reached the fruit and veg shop, grabbed some supplies and headed back home. So that made an hour and 10 minutes for that walk, which added to my earlier hour made a total of 2 hours and 10 minutes that day. Well that started something -- the next day I did it again -- this time I walked about an hour and a half. And I just kept doing that. Ever since the 11th January, I workout and/or walk regularly. Generally on weekdays I get up an hour earlier and either walk or do a video workout before work. Then in the evening I go for a 45 minute walk through a challenging route (very hilly in parts). Weekends I walk the dogs in the morning with hubby and walk again in the evening. I walk/workout on average 1.25 to 1.5 hours a day or more, and keep my calories between 1600-1800 on average. And it's working! Three weeks out of the four I saw a drop of over 3 pounds, and I'm quite pleased. So I just had to share the good news!
