Guest guest
Oops, that didn't come through very well. Let's try again. This is really yummy on a nut roast or on walnut burgers. Mushroom Sauce Adapted from a recipe on recipezaar.com originally adapted from 'Company's Coming Make Ahead Meals' by J. Pare. ---------------------- 20 minutes 10 minutes preparation ---------------------- 2 tablespoons vegan margarine (or oil) 2 cups fresh mushrooms 1 small onion, chopped 1/4 cup cornstarch (cornflour) 1 1/2 teaspoons chicken-style stock powder 1 teaspoon GF vegan worcestershire sauce 1/2 teaspoon salt1/2 teaspoon pepper 1/2 teaspoon paprika 2 cups soy milk 1/2 cup apple juice 1. Melt margarine in frying pan or saucepan. 2. Add mushroom and onions and sauté until soft. 3. Mix cornstarch with a little soy milk to make a smooth paste. Add remaining ingredients to this. 4. Add to mushrooms and onions and simmer for about 4 minutes, until thickened, stirring constantly. Makes around 2 3/4 cups.
